Specialized Women’s Health PT for a Stronger, More Confident You

Hastings, Nebraska

Expert care for pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and sexual health.

Hi, I’m Courtney! My viewpoint on healthcare, specifically physical therapy, has always been to give each of my patients individualized care tailored to their given needs.

Since beginning my career in Hastings as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in 2018 at Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab (PTSR), I have committed multiple hours of continuing education and coursework to enhance my knowledge in physical therapy.

In 2024, I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree, which paved the way to Align Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy alongside my coworkers at PTSR.

Feel Your Best at Every Stage of Life

  • Postpartum Care

Guiding the new mom and her new body through postpartum changes, reducing pain and physically restoring function. PT can help with return to running/jumping, aid in muscle control and promote tissue repair.

  • Pregnancy Care

Managing the ever changing pregnant body by keeping mom active, pain free and educated on birth.

  • Incontinence

The accidental leakage of urine or feces that can be due to pelvic floor dysfunction, tension or weakness. Pelvic floor PTs are specifically trained in assessing these areas and determining the best plan for your given symptoms.

  • Pelvic Pain

Pain in the pelvic or abdominal region that can affect sexual health, daily activities or cause abnormal sensations within the region. Endometriosis, PCOS, and Painful Bladder Syndrome are a few of the many diagnoses that may cause pelvic pain.

  • Prolapse

Diagnosis that can occur following birth, stress being placed downward on the pelvic floor or trauma that causes damaged or weakened pelvic floor muscles to the point they can no longer support the internal organs.

  • Diastasis Recti

Separation of rectus abdominus muscle due to weakness, incoordination or following birth. A diastasis can be corrected with proper training and education about the core canister and breathwork.

  • Cesarean Section Recovery

Rehabilitation focused on those mamas who received a C-section delivery of their baby and ways PT can help promote proper healing and reduction of pain.

  • Labor/Birth Prep Classes

Individualized educational classes for mama and significant other in preparation for the birth of their child focused on pushing with the pelvic floor in mind to reduce trauma and provide mental and physical confidence.

  • Post-Operative Care

Promoting movement through early stages following an abdominal or pelvic floor surgery producing long term, pain free mobility and strength.

  • Orthopedic

Women of all ages seeking orthopedic physical therapy intervention are welcomed with open arms. Although I do specialize in pelvic health, pregnancy and postpartum, I am still fully trained for all orthopedic issues from the neck to the feet!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the pelvic floor?2025-01-17T15:29:31-06:00

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles at the bottom of the pelvis that support organs, hold baby when pregnant, role in sexual functions, provide stability to hip/back/SI joint and work in unison with the diaphragm and core musculature.

What is pelvic floor PT?2026-03-06T15:16:32-06:00

Pelvic floor physical therapy at Align is treating the root cause of your symptoms or any given diagnosis listed below. PFPT is treating the whole patient and emphasizing that one does not have to “just live with” their current symptoms.

Can I bring my baby to my appointment?2025-01-17T15:29:49-06:00

YES! We do not have childcare, but we can play “pass the baby” if you’re comfortable. We often use your baby as the “weight” as you exercise to promote functional lifting!

Do you accept HSA/FSA for payment?2025-01-17T15:30:04-06:00

Yes. Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts can typically be used to pay for PT services, but cannot be used for non-medical services including individualized coaching or labor prep programs.

Do I need a referral for PFPT?2025-01-17T15:30:20-06:00

In Nebraska, patients have “direct access” to physical therapy services meaning you do not require a referral or prescription from a doctor for evaluations.

What is dry needling?2025-01-17T15:30:36-06:00

A small needle inserted into a trigger point/tight muscle that can help improve ROM, decrease pain and accelerate recovery.

Other symptoms that may present that correlate to pelvic floor?2025-01-17T15:30:53-06:00

Low back pain, SI joint instability, tight/pinchy hips, constipation, abdominal pain/bloating/surgeries, PCOS, endometriosis, painful periods, traumatic birth history, pelvic floor trauma, tailbone pain, hysterectomy, TMJ, neck pain/tightness, headaches, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, and LEEP procedures.

Can you address other issues at the same time, like shoulder or knee pain?2026-03-06T15:17:10-06:00

Absolutely. Align believes in treating the whole body, never “just” the pelvis and is a fully equipped outpatient orthopedic clinic along with pelvic floor specializations.

What is an internal exam and is it necessary?2025-01-17T15:31:39-06:00

How is this different from GYN exams? An internal assessment is never mandatory, but is beneficial as it helps the PT visualize and truly understand what the muscles of the pelvic floor are doing in real time. This differs from a GYN assessment as PTs exam the musculature and how the pelvic floor coordinates (or not) during functional activities. There are no instruments or tools inserted into the vaginal canal other than one gloved finger.

While the internal pelvic exam is the gold standard for exams and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions, it is never a mandatory procedure. If you choose to forego the internal exam, you will still be able to receive treatment from your PT based on an external exam.

*consent is of utmost importance and will be asked continually throughout the exam with NO being an option at any point

What should I expect at my first visit?2026-03-09T22:02:45-05:00

A pelvic floor PT session includes an examination of the entire body very similar to an orthopedic/traditional PT evaluation. Align Pelvic Therapy by PTSR focuses on your individual goals and returning to what you desire like running, jumping, pain reduction, and increasing strength.

What is Birth/Labor prep?2025-01-17T15:32:09-06:00

A one-on-one class for mama and significant other focusing on education, mental preparation, and physical preparation to welcome their new baby. This class includes pushing positions, partner assisted positions, pain relief strategies, education on anatomy, and postpartum essentials.

What diagnoses/symptoms can Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy treat?2025-01-17T15:32:26-06:00

PFPT can treat a variety of diagnoses including: pregnancy pain, postpartum healing, incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, pain with intercourse, leakage during exercise, diastasis recti, bowel dysfunction, low back/hip pain, SI joint instability, pubic symphysis pain, and tailbone discomfort.
