OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy gives people the “skills for the job of living” necessary for independent and satisfying lives.

HAND THERAPY

Hand therapy, a specialty practice area of occupational therapy, is typically concerned with treating orthopedic-based upper-extremity conditions to optimize the functional use of the hand and arm.

TOTAL MOTION RELEASE (TMR)

TMR is a very efficient form of treatment that usually does not exceed 8-10 visits. TMR can be used for pain relief, restrictions in range of motion, balance disorders and improvement in performance.

PEDIATRIC SERVICES

PTSR provides physical therapy services for Hastings Public School. The purpose of physical therapy in the school system is to provide equal opportunities by promoting increasing independence while providing the least restrictive and most supportive environment.

DRY NEEDLING

This is a skilled intervention performed by our physical therapists. Using a fine, “wire-like” needle, trigger points, muscular and connective tissue are stimulated to improve muscle flexibility and promote healing.

FREE SPORTS INJURY SCREENING

PTSR offers a free injury screening for athletes of all ages. Injured student athletes may be seen by one of our therapists during our normal work hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. We work the athletes into our regular patient schedule.

AQUATIC THERAPY

The water decreases the stress of weight bearing on the spine and joints. Clients are immediately able to stand longer, walk further and perform more exercises all with significantly less pain.

INSTRUMENTED ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION (IASTM)

This is a technique using specially designed instruments to effectively address scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION THERAPY

This is an exercise based treatment used to promote central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits.

Physical therapy can tremendously help those who suffer from Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorder – or jaw pain.
