PHYSICAL THERAPY

The therapists at PTSR are committed to treating you with the latest and most effective exercises and procedures. We are the only area clinic with 2 therapists certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as Orthopedic Certified Specialists.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy gives people the “skills for the job of living” necessary for independent and satisfying lives.

HAND THERAPY

Hand therapy, a specialty practice area of occupational therapy, is typically concerned with treating orthopedic-based upper-extremity conditions to optimize the functional use of the hand and arm.

LYMPHEDEMA

Lymphedema is an abnormal accumulation of lymph fluid just underneath the skin. When the lymphatic system is compromised, either from malformation or damage, inadequate transport of the fluid leads to swelling. Legs and arms are most commonly affected, but can affect other body parts. If left untreated, progressive swelling happens with a higher risk of skin changes and infections possible.

PEDIATRIC SERVICES

PTSR provides physical therapy services for Hastings Public School. The purpose of physical therapy in the school system is to provide equal opportunities by promoting increasing independence while providing the least restrictive and most supportive environment.

DRY NEEDLING

This is a skilled intervention performed by our physical therapists. Using a fine, “wire-like” needle, trigger points, muscular and connective tissue are stimulated to improve muscle flexibility and promote healing.

FREE SPORTS INJURY SCREENING

PTSR offers a free injury screening for athletes of all ages. Injured student athletes may be seen by one of our therapists during our normal work hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. We work the athletes into our regular patient schedule.

AQUATIC THERAPY

Aquatic therapy decreases the stress of weight bearing on the spine and joints. Clients are immediately able to stand longer, walk further and perform more exercises all with significantly less pain.

INSTRUMENTED ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION (IASTM)

IASTM is a technique using specially designed instruments to effectively address scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

ORTHOTICS

An orthotic is a supportive device placed inside footwear to change the mechanical function of the foot. We can customize the perfect insert for you.

VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION THERAPY

Vestibular therapy exercise based treatment used to promote central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits.

BALANCE AND MOBILITY

We offer the latest tools equipment for your balance and mobility. We have made a commitment to improve our care for patients with balance disorders and increased risk of falls by utilizing a Bertec BalanceCheck System.

TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDERS (TMJ – Jaw Pain)

Physical therapy can tremendously help those who suffer from Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorder – or jaw pain. Physical therapy is a conservative treatment that aims to improve TMJ mechanics, improve posture, relax muscles and relieve pain. Our physical therapists will perform a thorough evaluation and develop an individualized plan of care.

Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab of Hastings offers Occupational Services to help Nebraska employers reduce their Workers’ Compensation injuries. These services include Ergonomic Evaluations, Work Site Evaluations, On-site Rehabilitation, Return to Duty Evaluations, Drug and Alcohol Testing and more.

LSVT BIG – PARKISON’S THERAPY

LSVT BIG is a an intensive, amplitude focused physical and occupational therapy approach developed from principles of the effective Parkinson’s specific speech treatment LSVT LOUD®. The LSVT Programs have been developed and scientifically researched over the past 25 years with funding from the National Institutes of Health. Research on LSVT BIG has documented improved ratings on tests of motor functioning in people
with Parkinson disease following treatment.
